Ten Housewarming Gifts Under $50!

Gifts

Housewarming gifts are commonly given regardless if there is a housewarming party or not. Along with all of the other gifts you need to give during the course of a year you might be maintaining a budget. You can give a beautiful gift for under $50 that will be useful and remembered for many years.
When shopping for a gift keep in mind the recipient’s likes and dislikes and tailor the gift to them. Too often people buy what they like and that can mean disappointment for the person receiving it. Also keep in mind their beliefs or traditions that might be intruded upon by certain items: food, alcohol and religious or spiritual icons might be upsetting and inappropriate.

Ten Gifts for Giving

Also remember that it is not always the value of the gift but the spirit in which it was given.

  1. If you are known for your homemade crafts or baking skills you might want to present something that was personally made by you and comes straight from the heart. Priceless!
  2. A gift basket is always welcome. Whether it contains gourmet food items or scented products, a gift basket is fun and useful. They come in a wide price range and can be customized.
  3. If you know your friend’s full address, order some personalized stationery and return mailing address labels. There are so many beautiful and creative designs on the market. Many stationers offer recycled paper products as well.
  4. There are other personalized gifts you can give including: door mat, extra large umbrella or mail box that attaches to the house beside the front door.
  5. Another gift with their address in mind is a decorative plaque showing their house address numbers. There are many styles available in many different materials.
  6. Friends that are nature lovers might appreciate a new birdhouse. You may be able to find one that shares a similar architectural design with their new house or order it in the same colors.
  7. Moving is tiring so a gift card to a local restaurant could be the best gift ever! Make sure that the restaurant in their area is still open, as restaurants tend to open and close down frequently.
  8. Many other stores and services offer gift cards: grocery stores, hardware stores and other goods and services that people just moving in can certainly use.
  9. You can never go wrong with flowers or house plants. Take cues from what you’ve seen in their previous house or yard and choose a pretty planter using their new color pallet.
  10. Our last gift suggestion is open: keep your eyes and ears on alert and if you pick up on something they are very fond of, like a good pinot noir or chocolate, they’ve already told you what they would like!
